Lavenham, Suffolk

30 July 2015
We decided to visit Lavenham in Suffolk and set off in that direction.  Lavenham is an old market town which retains many of its medieval buildings, including a lovely old Guildhall. Weaving, fulling and dying were important industries, and the town was famous for its "Lavenham Blue" wool, dyed with woad. The town is full of picturesque and colourful buildings.  It was very warm wandering around, but very pleasant.

Inside Guildhall - the cushion on the settee is of
Lavenham Blue wool.

Building known as "The Crooked House".
I wonder why.
